Paula de Solminihac is a visual artist, Associate Professor at the School of Art and the Institute for Sustainable Development at the Catholic University, Chile and Executive Director of Nube Lab, an NGO dedicated to contemporary art and education. Her art practice explores the relationship between art, social and ecological processes and since 2000 has more specifically researched clay and processes of material and symbolic transformation. De Solminihac is also known for her public interventions and creation of spaces for reflection and dialogue that invite community participation including Morning Glory at Faena Beach, Miami during Miami Art Week 2022 and most recently La Carpa de la Medusa (The Jellyfish Tent) at Playa Chica, Las Cruces, Chile 2024. Her work has been exhibited widely, including in Australia at Rivus, the 23rd Biennale of Sydney (2022) and a subsequent iteration at Monash University Museum of Art in Rivermouth (2023).
